Research Interests

  • Simulation of explicit copepod behavior to study foraging and predator-prey interactions
  • Oceanic biogeochemical and ecological response to physical variability over the full range of spatio-temporal scales
  • Determination of the impact of aeolian nutrient deposition on spatio-temporal variability of marine primary production, export fluxes and carbon cycling
  • Effect of riverine freshwater fluxes and associated particulate and dissolved materials on the physical and biogeochemical processes of adjacent coastal waters
  • Impact of seasonally developing anoxia on estuarine nitrogen cycling and N export to the coastal ocean
  • Extension of harmful algal bloom predictive models using simulated biological and chemical fields obtained from an estuarine model
  • Biological and chemical response of the ocean to hurricane forcing
